October has brought us the latest edition of the Gender Equality Index. Developed by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), the index measures the European Union’s progress towards gender equality in six core domains (work, money, knowledge, time, power and health) and two additional ones (violence against women and intersecting inequalities). By studying these aspects, the EIGE is able to rate the level of gender equality in every Member State on a scale of 1 to 100, where 1 represents absolute inequality and 100, perfect balance between women and men.
