People want companies to take a stronger stand on social issues

Early on this month, the Edelman Trust Barometer 2023 report revealed a complex landscape regarding people’s trust in institutions and the economy. We learned that economic optimism has plummeted in the last twelve months and that many people are fearful. Only 40% of the survey respondents believe that they will be better off financially in five years’ time, and what respondents fear the most is losing their job, climate change, inflation, nuclear war, food shortages and energy scarcity.
